The new ABSIMA Graphene LiPo batteries represent the latest development in lithium battery technology, offering new levels of performance. Our engineers have worked closely with our team drivers to fine tune the performance of our Graphene LiPo batteries to make sure that the performance is optimal, no matter the track conditions. With the addition of graphene, the battery has improved attributes such as higher energy density, lower internal resistance, higher discharge rates, and a longer life cycle.
The ABSIMA Graphene Lipo series can be used as standard 7.4V LiPo Battery or as HIGH VOLTAGE (HV) LiPo with 7.6V.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "7.4V STANDARD" AND "7.6 HIGH VOLTAGE" CAPACITY?
Normal LiPo batteries have a final charging voltage of 4.2 volts per cell when fully charged. Due to its unique hybrid RS cell structure, the new type tolerates a little more and can be charged up to 4.35 volts.
This not only results in more power at the start, but also, that there is more in each individual cell and thus longer run times can be achieved.
HOW TO CHARGE "HV" LIPOS?
First of all you should check if your charger has a program for loading HV-Lipo's. It must be possible to set a final charging voltage of 4.35 volts. If this is the case, these are to be charged quite normally like usual LiPo batteries.
The maximum charging rate for a ABSIMA Graphene Lipo is 5C (5 times the capacity of the battery).
The most common mistake is to forget to change the charger to a final charging voltage of 4.2V if you want to charge standard LiPo batteries again!!!!
This error should of course be avoided under all circumstances, as overcharging a standard LiPo can lead to fire!
NEVER CHARGE A STANDARD (7.4V) LIPO WITH 4.35V FINAL VOLTAGE !!!!
A LiPo should not be stored fully charged. As always, the battery should be stored between 50% and 60% charged and not discharged below 10%, otherwise the cells will be damaged.
GOOD TO KNOW:
HV Lipos could be also charged up to 4.2V like normal Lipos. They still provide more run time due to the considerably more compact design and a lower voltage drop under full load.
