How does an RC remote control work?

The remote control is probably one of the most important things for RC modeling because it is used to control the vehicle. An RC remote control consists of a transmitter and a receiver, as well as servo(s) for implementing the commands. The latter two components belong in the RC model. The transmitter transmits the corresponding commands to the receiver in the vehicle by operating the buttons/levers. Depending on your own preferences, a pistol remote control or a stick remote control can be used.

How does the transmission work?

The RC transmitter acts as the actual remote control, while the receiver is located in the RC vehicle and executes the commands from the transmitter. You control the RC car in the desired direction using the steering wheel or lever on the transmitter. The transmitter sends the signal to the receiver, so that the vehicle sets your entries in motion. All our remote controls work with the latest 2.4 GHz frequency technology with ranges between 50 and 300 meters in an unobstructed line of sight. However, it should be noted that sources of interference (e.g. metal fences) can negatively affect the reception and/or driving behavior. It is also possible to operate several vehicles with one radio by simply installing the appropriate receiver and setting it up accordingly (radio system with model memory required).

How many control channels are required?

Absima offers simple RC car remote controls with two channels, but also high-end professional radio systems. But how many channels do you actually need to operate an RC model? In principle, 2 channels for throttle/brake and steering are sufficient and are offered in most RTR sets. However, if you want to control even more components such as lights, gears or other modules, it makes sense to use a remote control with 4, 6 or even more channels. The remote control is an important component for your RC car. In our online shop, you will find numerous radio sets. Of course, you can also order receivers individually. In the accessories and electronics section, Absima offers a wide range of products.
